AI for Education Comes Full Circle
Yesterday, AI for Education had a true full-circle moment: we were at Thomas Edison High School in Jamaica, New York, leading three sessions with educators.
In the Summer of 2023, we showed up at this very school early on a Tuesday morning and conducted our first in-person training sessions of our (then) new GenAI flagship workshop.
Principal Moses Ojeda was one of our earliest advocates, and we've loved working with him and his team ever since. He was even gracious enough yesterday to let me lock him out of his office for an hour to lead a mid-day webinar, and loaned me his giant pencil for my background.
Over the years we’ve been fortunate to work with the incredible educators and students at Thomas Edison a number of times. The sessions yesterday - led by Chief Program Officer Corey Layne Crouch and Lead Workshop Facilitator Maria Laws - focused on preparing students for an AI-integrated future of work and exploring NotebookLM as a differentiated learning tool.
This time we were joined by Carlos Bido and 10X10 Studios to capture the day and what we do. Not just the content, but our team, our approach, the whole experience.
Today we're back in the studio, having another full circle moment. That same summer in 2023, Daniel Kosta also spent a few days in this very studio filming segments for our free AI course for educators, which we launched a week later. That course has now reached over 30,000 educators worldwide.
Being back in both of these spaces reminds us how much has happened because of the people who believed in us and this work early on. As we celebrate these milestones and reflect on how far we've come, we're deeply grateful for the relationships, partnerships, and friendships that have paved the way for our success. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this incredible journey and our amazing AI for Education community.
