GenAI Literacy in Practice: Applying the SEE Framework
What every educator and leader needs to know.
For individuals & small teams
For schools & districts
Educators and students are already using AI, most without a clear understanding of how to do so safely, ethically, or effectively.
This workshop is designed for educators and leaders who want to move beyond awareness and build real GenAI literacy in their communities using AI for Education’s SEE Framework.
Duration: 3-Hour Workshop Format: In-Person or Virtual
Includes: The SEE Framework, SEE GenAI Literacy Snapshot, SEE Framework in Action, and Community AI Literacy Plan Template
Open Enrollment: June 24, 2026 · Virtual · $399/per person
Schools & Districts: Custom scheduling · In-person or virtual
WORKSHOP OUTCOMES
AI use does not mean AI literacy.
Research shows that strong AI literacy is what enables people to make informed decisions about when, how, and whether to use GenAI. This workshop gives educators and leaders the shared language and practical tools to know what GenAI literacy looks like in their community and how to build it.
1
Know why AI literacy needs to be a priority in your community
AI use is outpacing AI literacy in nearly every school community. You’ll leave with the research and the language to convince colleagues, leaders, and your board that GenAI literacy can’t wait.
2
Understand the knowledge, mindsets, and practices that make up GenAI literacy
GenAI literacy is more than knowing how to prompt. You’ll learn each part of the SEE Framework and how knowledge, mindsets, and practices work together in safe, ethical, and effective use.
3
Apply the SEE Framework to the real decisions educators and students face
Most AI decisions aren’t covered by policy. You’ll practice working through actual dilemmas with the Framework in Action, so you can make better calls and model that reasoning for others.
4
Leave with a plan to build GenAI literacy across your community
GenAI literacy is built by a community, not a single training. You’ll map what it looks like for your students, educators, leaders, and caregivers and identify concrete next steps.
THE SEE FRAMEWORK
Better AI decisions, across your whole community.
During the workshop, you'll develop a deep, working understanding of the SEE Framework: the knowledge, mindsets, and practices that allow individuals to use GenAI safely, ethically, and effectively. Developed and refined over three years through AI for Education's work with hundreds of schools and education organizations, the SEE Framework is the foundation for everything in this session.
FOUNDATIONAL KNOWLEDGE
Good decisions about AI start with understanding how these tools actually work, what they're trained on, why they hallucinate, how they handle user data, and where they fall short. Without this foundation, people can't evaluate what they're working with.
TRANSFORMATIVE MINDSETS
Knowing how AI works doesn't automatically shape how people use it. Mindsets are the beliefs and dispositions that translate what you know into how you actually engage with these tools. They determine whether a person stays in the driver's seat, applies healthy skepticism, and grounds their decisions in their own judgment and values.
PURPOSEFUL PRACTICES
Practices are what knowledge and mindsets look like in action. Safe, ethical, and effective practices shift AI use to AI literacy. They include deciding when AI is the right tool, prompting with intention, evaluating what comes back, and maintaining accountability for the final product
