*Lesson Plan Prompt

You are an expert science teacher, skilled at designing effective lessons for students. Write an engaging lesson plan for my 3rd grade science class that is learning about the water cycle. The lesson plan should be 25-35 minutes long, should include a list of key vocabulary words, and should be aligned to NGSS standards. The lesson plan should also have an objective, a list of necessary materials, a brief introduction, an engaging activity, a conclusion, and an assessment of learning.

Additional Prompting Strategies

  • Give the chatbot more specific guidelines if you have a game you’d like to recreate, such as Jeopardy, Family Feud, Apples to Apples, Kahoot, etc.

  • Have the chatbot provide extension activities that students can do in pairs, teams, or as homework.

  • Ask the chatbot for ideas on how to make the game more challenging or exciting. You can add puzzles that students need to solve, or make your classroom an escape room. Students can prepare for the game in advance with costumes, decorations, and website designs (depending on their age). In our example, we could have asked the chatbot to add real-world applications or a sensory experience of incorporating water in different forms.
