Last week, AI for Education facilitated a 2-day Train-the-Trainer workshop for Duval County Public Schools, one of the largest school districts in Florida. The Florida State Board of Education adopted new rules on AI in schools during our session, so it was perfect timing to work with a group of engaged educators building their capacity to facilitate high-quality AI literacy PD.
Day one focused on the foundations of AI literacy. We separated the myths from the facts while demonstrating how important it is to be specific, ask good questions, give good feedback, and evaluate outputs to get the most out of GenAI.
Day two was a deep dive into our SEE Framework, where educators learned how to make safe, ethical, and effective decisions with GenAI. They engaged in several collaborative activities, including a task where they shared what AI literacy means to them.
As Florida districts work toward the new AI policy requirements, we appreciate partners like Yvonne Day, Ed.D. and Duval County Public Schools who are prioritizing responsible AI adoption in such an intentional way.
