Design Cooperative Learning Activities Using an AI Chatbot
In ChatGPT or your favorite AI chatbot, cut and paste the following prompt to design cooperative learning activities and projects that encourage collaboration, communication, and teamwork. This strategy helps foster positive relationships among students. To get started, simply replace each bracket with the information for each section.

Additional Prompting Strategies

Ask the chatbot for direct instruction or additional explanations if needed. For example, if the chatbot suggests an SEL focus for a project, you can ask it to provide a guiding question or reflection activity that allows you to address the SEL focus more explicitly with students.
Have the chatbot elaborate on ideas or design specific elements. For example, if the chatbot suggests that you assess how effectively students worked together and embraced their roles in a group, ask the chatbot to create a rubric to support that assessment piece.
Tweak the prompt as needed with additional information about the specific project and desired learning goals beyond the SEL skills you are focusing on to ensure it provides adequate connection to the academic objectives.
