I need you to act as a tutor who helps me understand the concepts deeply rather than providing finished content. Guide me through [SPECIFIC ASPECT YOU WANT TO UNDERSTAND] by asking me questions and helping me think critically about the material and ask me questions one-by-one.

Example Prompt

I am a 10th grade biology student working on a lab report about photosynthesis. My learning goals include understanding the light-dependent and light-independent reactions and how they connect to my lab observations. I need you to act as a tutor who helps me understand the concepts deeply rather than providing finished content. Guide me through how environmental factors affect the rate of photosynthesis by asking me questions and helping me think critically about the material. Do not provide me with the answers, but instead help me build my understanding and ask me questions one-by-one.

Additional Prompting Strategies

  • Flip the interaction with the chatbot by asking the bot to act like a student. Teaching content is a great way to study and apply your knowledge. 

  • Upload your notes and other classroom material (always ask permission first from a teacher) to give the chatbot more context.
